The new year brings excitement all its own. A fresh start where the calendar resets with a look forward with anticipation of provider and vendor marketing success. Plans, execution timelines, content calendars, and KPIs are in place. Maybe there is a new hire or two completing the build-out on the marketing department for today’s fast-paced and challenging healthcare ecosystem.

All well and good, but did you make any new year resolutions?

Funny as it may sound, new year’s resolutions can propel organizations beyond the accomplishments of the anticipated goals described in the operational, financial, and marketing plans.

In considering the 2022 market that healthcare providers and vendors face with great uncertainty, I decided to compile a list of ten healthcare marketing resolutions for 2022. Plans change, innovative new entrants disrupt markets, governments change regulations, payers squeeze harder, and public health crises wax and wane.

Changes in market conditions will be lightning-quick and unexpected in 2022, as we learned in 2020 and 2021.

With that lesson in mind, here are ten resolutions for healthcare providers and vendors, regardless of what the market throws at you.

1.       Focus on improving the user experience for your digital presence and tools.

2.       Focus on improving the patient experience to create loyalty and continued use.

3.       Stay current on the latest marketing innovations.

4.       Improve the design and visual content of your materials.

5.       Experiment outside of your content comfort zone.

6.       Be social on social media.

7.       Listen better to doctors, patients, employees, and the community.

8.       Write better content.

9.       Innovate by trying new trends and strategies.

10.   Subscribe to Healthcare Business & Marketing Insights blog.

The lessons of the last two pandemic-driven years come down to an unrelenting focus on your patients or customers. While I leave you the detail of figuring out the “how” of these resolutions, I wish you excellent marketing success and growth in 2022.
